Rollers walk into the lion’s den against Ngurungu

Township Rollers will go into the Maun Sports Complex ready to battle out the Maun-based Sankoyo Bush Bucks who have proven to be a hard nut to crack over the years especially at their home ground.

Roller’s bright start to the season can be tempered with by the Maun gladiators who have been a force to reckon with at their home ground and even away as can be attested to by the likes of Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

The last time Ngurungu lost to Rollers at their home ground was back in 2015, where Popa triumphed 2-1 over courtesy of captain Maano Ditshupo and Segolame Boy. Ngurungu were then consoled by a strike from Omatla Kebatho.

Popa go into the Saturday looking to leap over their emerging bitter rivals Orapa United at the top of the table although that would prove difficult as United will surely pocket three points against Gilport Lions this Friday night in Orapa. Should United win, Popa’s victory in Maun will only take them to the second spot, and a loss could spell trouble should Lobatse side Extension Gunners then win on Sunday against Jwaneng Galaxy.

Ngurungu are currently sitting on the 9th spot and a win for the side will mean they move into the top 8. Rollers are set to fly into the tourist destination but should be wary of a team that has put breaks to the momentum of many a club that crossed their path. Rollers themselves have not been convincing in recent matches and nothing more than a win will ensure they go into the Christmas break with extra motivation to win more of their games starting January.
