The FNB Premiership 2026‑27 season is heating up after Week 3, and SUA Flamingoes have taken early flight, sitting pretty at the summit with seven points from three matches. The Sowa Town outfit on Saturday edged Prisons XI 1‑0 to underline their intent as they have so far posted a disciplined, efficient, and non-compromising defence in front of their goal posts, with no team managing to score against them so far.

It was their second 1-0 victory of the season following an inevitable own goal by a Prisons XI defender when he tried to avert danger from a compelling cross by Laudry Mukaba in the 34th minutes

Their Week 2 match ended in a goalless draw against Morupule Wanderers in Palapye last weekend while in their first match of the season, they prevailed 1-0 over Matebele FC courtesy of a 25th minute strike from Tlhalefang Molebatsi. The three results have left them perched at the top and will be buoyed by this ahead of their next encounter against Enesia on Saturday in Sowa Town.

Behind them, Police XI and Extension Gunners lurk with six points apiece, both unbeaten and waiting to pounce once their postponed fixtures are cleared.

The weekend kicked off at the GU Stadium, where Mochudi Centre Chiefs edged Nico United 2‑0 in a lively contest that had fans chanting long after the whistle. Up north, newly promoted Tonota FC continued to impress, holding BDF XI 1‑1 at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium, a result that keeps both sides in the chasing pack.

Then on Saturday, at the Palapye Stadium, Morupule Wanderers and Township Rollers shared spoils in a 1‑1 draw, a match that marked Rollers’ long‑awaited full return to league action after administrative hiccups and postponed fixtures.

Elsewhere, Enesia FC celebrated their first top‑flight win, beating Matebele FC 1‑0 at Obed Itani Chilume while Tafic FC wrapped up the evening with a gritty 1‑0 away victory over Orapa United at the Itekeng Stadium, proving that the Francistown side’s fighting spirit is alive and well.  There were no matches fixtured for Sunday

Meanwhile, Gaborone United and Jwaneng Galaxy were busy with CAF Interclub duties, both bowing out in heartbreak. GU fell 2‑1 to Tanzania’s Young Africans, losing 3‑2 on aggregate in the Champions League while Galaxy were edged 1‑0 at home by AS Port Louis 2000 of Mauritius, crashing out 2‑1 overall in the Confederation Cup.

Their domestic matches against Police XI and Extension Gunners will be rescheduled, leaving fans eager to see how the continental fatigue affects their league form as Galaxy will next face Morupule Wanderers next Saturday and United take on BDF XI.

Other upcoming matches will see Extension Gunners travel to take on Township Rollers in what will be an epic battle next Sunday, while Tafic hosts Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Nico United will host Prisons XI while Matebele FC take on Tonota FC. The Week 4 matches will however kick off on Friday when Orapa United travel to play against Police XI.
