Jwaneng Galaxy turned the diamond town into a fortress on Saturday, brushing aside Township Rollers with a 2–0 scoreline that keeps their title ambitions burning bright in the FNB Premiership.

The clash had been hyped as a test of nerve for both sides, each desperate to keep pace in the championship race. As it stands, Galaxy sit second on the league log table with 32 points, while Rollers are at fifth with 23 points.  For much of the opening half, it was a tense exchange where attacks were traded, defences were holding firm, and fans biting nails. But Galaxy’s young midfielder Kgotso Radithongwa broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, his strike sending the home crowd into raptures and putting Rollers on the back foot.

Rollers came out swinging after the break, pressing hard for an equaliser. Yet every surge forward was met with Galaxy’s disciplined backline, who refused to crack under pressure. The hosts then shifted gears, and in the 69th minute Tebogo Kopelang delivered the killer blow, slotting home the second goal that sealed the contest and left Rollers chasing shadows.

For Galaxy, the three points are more than just numbers; they are a statement of intent in a season where margins are razor-thin. Their next assignment is against log leaders Gaborone United on Wednesday night at the GU Stadium, another chance to cement their place in the title chase. Rollers, meanwhile, must regroup quickly before facing Sua Flamingoes, with their supporters demanding a response after being outplayed in Jwaneng.

The scoreboard reads 2–0, but the bigger story is Galaxy’s growing confidence. In a league where every slip counts, this was a victory that spoke louder than words.
