The Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana’s (HATAB) highly anticipated 40th Annual Conference  gets underway in Maun this Friday.

The conference will be held under the theme, ‘Advancing Towards A World Class Tourism Investment Climate To Create Jobs.’

Public Affairs and Comms Executive at HATAB, Lorato Keitireng told this publication that this theme is relevant in today’s era where Botswana is also battling effects of climate change as well as shortage of jobs in the country. She shared that the conference would kick-off with Annual General Meeting (AGM) set for this Thursday, April 25th at 08:00hrs at Maun Lodge, opening the way for the main event the following day.

President Mokgweetsi Masisi will perform the official opening

This year’s conference official opening speaker is President Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi, and guest speaker is Chairman for Motor Holdings Botswana, Mbiganyi Tibone.

As HATAB exists to promote and encourage excellence in Hospitality and Tourism in Botswana, the event is expected to draw a pool of different stakeholders who will exchange ideas and experiences in the field to enhance the sector.
