FEAR NO ONE Go all out and vote for parties of your choice, Masisi implores Lobatse residents

President Mokgweetsi Masisi today urged residents of Lobatse to exercise their democratic right to vote for parties of their choice at the country’s polls set for October 30, saying they should not be intimidated by recent threats of violence made by some politicians.

Masisi was addresssing a Kgotla meeting in the town, where he also shared government’s infrastructural plans that will be executed soon, among which are development of roads and improved access to water.

Masisi explained that in Lobatse and surrounding areas, water connectivity will be ramped up and they will evaluate where the key water leakages are located.

He said that all residents who have registered to vote must go and vote with no fear of abuse and terror from anyone, adding that on the day, youthful voters should voluntarily make way for the elderly and the sickly in an act of botho.

“Bana ba sutele bagodi,” Masisi explained, adding that voters should remember not to come in their party colours to the polling stations.

Furthermore, he said that Batswana should not be swayed to take sides with wayward people who seek to bring disorder into the Botswana.

He revealed that October 30th and 31st  are paid holidays and Batswana should use the time wisely.

Masisi refuted claims that he visits Lobatse only when election season is near and he explained that he is also responsible for other places in Botswana that need his attention too.

Speaking at the same Kgotla meeting, Minister of Minerals and Energy, Lefoko Moagi urged residents to connect electricity in their homes as government is already meeting them half way by not charging connection fees.

He further urged residents to guard against people that steal copper wires and he also urged them to move towards renewable sources of electricity.
