David Bright’s frustration lands him in trouble

Reports from South Africa on Monday said former Zebras coach Major David Bright is in trouble with his club Black Leoopards following his comments on radio.

The former Gaborone United mentor was speaking to Phalaphala FM when he complained bitterly about being told who to play after Leopards lost 3-2 at home to Mbombela United in the National First Division on Saturday.“We lost the game because of the substitutes… Sometimes you just have to follow what you are being told. I think you understand what I’m talking about and if I’m the driver and you tell me how to change the gears, and how to turn the wheels, definitely I can cause an accident,” Bright said.“You have to use your common sense and this is football. I will take the blame as the coach, but you find that this sort of things are being caused by other people. It is water under the bridge, the game is gone so you cannot talk much about it but we have to sit down as the technical team together with management to solve this problem. If we are going to continue like this we are going to lose a lot of games. I know what I’m doing and as a coach if you come and tell to do something that I am not prepared to do, the players are not going to go right.“I’m a very experienced coach and I have been in football for a long time and what is happening here is very unusual,” he added.Leopards responded by saying that the coach should have voiced his concern to management instead of the media and now the matter is expected to be addressed internally.
