Mogoditshane Police Station Commander Senior Superintendent Russ Letsebe says they are yet to arrest the four armed robbers who stormed into a Choppies store on Friday evening, making away with undisclosed amount of cash.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that the four men who were hidden behind balaclavas and masks got into the store just when some cashiers were busy on their cash registers – tills – preparing the money they had made for the day. The store was about to close, and upon storming into the store, they ordered everyone in the store to lie down as they then proceeded to collect the monies from all the cash registers, including those that were occupied by other cashiers who were still helping customers.
The men would later leave the store running on foot, and disappeared into the dark alleys where they are suspected to have boarded a get-away car. Letsebe says a manhunt for the robbers has since commenced, but confirmed that they are yet to be arrested.
