Police in Serowe are investigating a matter in which a lifeless body of a 27-year-old woman was found in a pool of blood in Serowe this past Sunday.
The deceased is said to be from Sebabi ward in Serowe, and the police say the wound on the woman showed that a sharp object was used to commit the crime.
Confirming the incident, Serowe Police Station Commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng disclosed that they have since taken in a 25-year-old man who was involved in a romantic relationship with the woman. A passerby who spotted the lifeless body on Sunday morning went on to report the matter to the police who then rushed to the murder scene where they then rushed her to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital. She was certified dead on arrival.
A worried Superintendent Oteng has since appealed to members of the public to assist them with further information on the matter, adding that the Sunday murder was the seventh to be reported to his police station. He called on people to dialogue their matter through, rather than resort to violence.
